Beads, Bibimbap, and Berries
Feb. 23rd, 2008 08:17 pmI spent the afternoon with
mina_kat9 and
simbel_myne and friend. We ate lunch at Panera and then went to the the International Gem and Bead Show at the Pittsburgh Expo Mart. I have to say that I did not spend all the cash in my possession and did not use plastic at all. This time. I think I bought an amazing amount of semi-precious beads for what I spent. Now I just have to figure out what I'm doing with them.
After we parted ways, I did a small amount of grocery shopping and then went home and made myself some Bibimbap. Last night I made some bean sprout (kong) namul, spinach (sigumchi) namul, and stir fried julienned carrots. I already had kim chee and some leftover cooked short grain brown rice. Tonight I bought some ribeye steak and marinated it in bulgogi sauce for about half an hour and then cooked it in a cast iron skillet. I heated the rice in a bowl and then put some of the various vegetables on top the rice along with kim chee and the beef. I topped that with a fried egg (over easy). To spice it up I had purchased gochujang at a Korean grocery called Seoul Mart and I thinned with a bit of water and some rice vinegar. For dessert I had Mixed Fancy Berries (just raspberries, blueberries and blackberries) purchased at Trader Joe's topped with whipped cream.
dergeis had the remaining half of a pepperoni and cheese explosion stromboli from last night's dinner (reheated in the oven).

Car Design Silliness
Feb. 23rd, 2008 09:44 pmMicrosoft now has software in Ford cars. Per
dergeis, this brings new meaning to "blue screen of death" -- blue screen of flaming death, that is!
Volvo now has some sort of mechanism for detecting whether someone is hiding out in your car and transmitting that to your door fob (the indicator pulses like a heartbeat). So, what if you have a pet in the car?
