I just wish it would get warm now. In spite of the 38 degree F weather we are having, my crocuses have bloomed.

In other news, my injury from Wednesday's accident is better. It doesn't hurt as much to bend/squat down and I feel like I can move around with less pain.

Usually, [livejournal.com profile] dergeis and I go out to eat on Sundays but seeing that it is a holiday today and our usual places would either be closed or taking reservations only, I cooked. We had turkey ham (purchased at Whole Foods) with marmalade/mustard glaze, macaroni salad, sweet potatoes, green beans and bread that my dad gave me yesterday. (Pascha, I think. It was yellow.)

I'm not that far from you, and we have a few flower shoots up but nothing else. I think it'll be at least another week before we get crocuses.

The crocuses are planted in the front of our house which faces mostly West (Southwest). It gets a lot of sun. I took this picture about 3:30 pm today. I saw the buds up yesterday but I think that this is the first day they bloomed. I do know that Raccoon Creek State Park (which is closer to you) tends to be cooler.

Also, the front of our house faces north and is in shadow most of the year. We've bought kind of a mini-greenhouse for the deck which faces south, to help get some plants going for the spring.
