This first part is re-posted from [livejournal.com profile] p_m_cryan's blog:
"I have a lot on my mind lately, as do we all. Our lives are too busy, we don't get to spend enough time together, we have no opportunity to relax and just BE.

I am a prime example of this. My days are frenzied... I put in ten-hour-plus shifts at the bookstore, come home and put in another three-to-five hours on the Mike's Comics business, plus help with meal planning and clean-up.

And in my multi-tasking frenzy a few weeks ago I came across this, via a convoluted search engine string.

You Are Not Alone.

Under its "Real Life" section in the clickable link is a message to every single person on the Internet.

" • You. I don't care who you are, what you look like, how old you are, where you're from, what you do for a living, what religion you are, your sexuality, your opinions, SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE loves you and cares about you. Be it your friends, your family, or some random person on the street, there's always someone that wants to see you smile, even if it doesn't seem like it. Love and affection are present everywhere you look, and if you're considering hurting yourself, for the love of God, think about this before you do it. Even if nobody you know or met cares (and I guarantee that they do), there's a million people you've never met who don't want you to hurt yourself. I know I certainly don't. So go hug a kitten, pet a puppy, give someone flowers, tell a joke, be happy. Because you will never, ever be alone.

◦ Remember, you are a troper. You're one of us. Even if this is your first time on this site, even if you don't have an account, you're part of the community we have here. And we don't want to lose you. You've made it this far and we know you can make it the rest of the way. You Are Better Than You Think You Are, and we tropers are in this together.

◦ We are anonymous. We are legion. So fear not, anon over there... for you. Are not. Alone." "
And, for my part, it's true. Many of the people who read this blog or whose blogs I read I haven't met in real life, or if I have met you it was once or twice for an hour or two, yet if I found out sometime later that one of you, in a moment of despair, hurt yourself, I would be deeply upset and concerned. I know I read more than I post. With everyone here and in other places, I've connected on some level. I come back and continue to follow because I care. I may not comment often but I read and care. You Are Not Alone.
