adelheid_pFirst, a telectroscope was installed, enabling people to peer at each other from New York, NY, USA to London, UK. Then NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander landed safely. And cool pictures were to be had all around: Phoenix Descending from Bad Astronomy blog.
