There will be 4 hours of downtime starting at 11 am today. I'm a computer geek and mildly interested in how they're doing this. I'm pretty sure they're not trucking servers from San Francisco to the new location so they must be doing a massive data transfer to servers already built in the new location. If I were doing this, I'd have been doing data transfers on a nightly basis already and just perform the final transfer during the downtime. I suspect they're doing the same. The bulk of the old posts have probably been copied over to the new location and they just want to sync everything up and point DNS at the new servers. Anyway, see you all on the other side!
