The weekend that was
Jan. 7th, 2007 09:01 pmWell, I had a productive weekend. I mailed off some packages. One was a Christmas package that was waiting until its recipients got back from a trip to Australia. The other was a book for my daughter that she needed for class. Composted my vegetable parings, refilled the bird feeder and I went shopping in The Strip District . Which isn't naughty at all. I got lamb shanks and potatoes from Wholey's Fish Market, kumquats and beans sprouts at Lotus Food, dried cannellini beans and chick peas from Pennsylvania Macaroni Company, a giant walnut laced brownie from Enrico Biscotti and, finally, at another Asian market, I got a jicama, napa cabbage, and chicken and vegetable potstickers. The lamb and potatoes are going to be made into lamb korma from a slow cooker cook book that I have. I don't have specific plans for everything else but the jicama is partially cut up for veggie snacking and the kumquats are also for snacking. Today, I ordered the books for my daughter's classes from Half.com and probably saved her around $100 off of the new prices. Yesterday, I cleaned out my backpack and purse and found a receipt with a rebate for which yesterday was the deadline to apply --I applied online and met the deadline. I suppose this is rather mundane in retrospect. My dining room table looks like my backpack and purse exploded onto it! LOL! Now, I just need to sort out what to keep, shred, and pitch.
