Longest night/shortest day
Dec. 22nd, 2006 10:15 pmTechnically, the precise moment of the solstice was yesterday at 7:22 pm. This is when the sun is directly over the Tropic of Capricorn.
celticmoons and I made a trip to Prince Gallitzin State Park (Pennsylvania) and enjoyed the view from Headache Hill and visited Glendale Lake. It was too cold and rainy to hike so we decided that we would come back some other time to do that. Along the way we stopped at the Gene and Boots Candy Store, The Cheese House where I bought some Raspberry Acres Raspberry wine for myself and a co-worker and a bottle of Birch Beer for
amg04, and the Sheepskin Shop. Also along the way,
celticmoons helped me pick out a special stocking stuffer for
amg04. Because we were running low on time, we headed out to pickup a gift for
celticmoons niece and then back to drop me off at home. Where I scarfed down some food because I only had breakfast and a South Beach diet bar for lunch. The jury is still out as to whether I can stomach the sugar alcohols in one of those bars.
As I was writing this,
amg04 brought home some large green olives --some stuffed with feta cheese and some stuffed with provolone cubes. I think I prefer the provolone because it blends nicely with the taste of the olives.
Tomorrow we are going to the Carnegie Science Center because I left my camera in
celticmoons car! :-P
