This year,
amg04 decided that meat was back in her diet. During discussions of what I should make for Thanksgiving, she asked for me to make brisket. No not corned beef brisket. The brisket in question is the just the same cut of meat without the pickling. I place it in the pan (fat side up --this is important) and cover the top with crushed garlic and thin slices of onion in a roasting pan which is covered with foil and put in the oven on 200-250 degrees F for 8-12 hours. Yes, it goes in the oven in the morning for an evening meal. This year, I'm going to put carrots, potatoes and green beans in the pan about 45 minutes to 1 hour before the roast is done. I'll cook sweet potatoes for
dergeis who won't eat the other potatoes. Maybe
amg04 will make a salad and I'll probably buy my favorite Tuscan bread from Giant Eagle or maybe attempt to make bread machine Limpa again or both. Yes, it's not turkey but it's a meal we all like. There will be leftovers but I'm sure that some will be going back with
amg04 as she's described the brisket to her friends as worth it. I'm going to buy a turkey anyway for use at a later date and maybe some Cornish hens for me and
amg04 as
dergeis doesn't like to fight so much for his meat.
