amg04 made it home safe and sound despite the many deer that crossed her path on the way home. It's good to see her. We had our dinner of brisket, candied sweet potatoes, green beans, red potatoes roasted with rosemary and garlic and rolls. After the dishes were done, we sat down and watched Pan's Labyrinth. I hadn't seen it before. It's a bitter sweet fantasy set during the Spanish Civil War. We've just finished our pumpkin pie. Unfortunately,
dergeis has to work tomorrow.
amg04 and I plan to get up early for some Black Friday shopping. Once again, there is nothing I feel really invested in buying. I won't be standing in line at 4 am anywhere. We'll probably get going around 5 am. If I get what's on my list, great! If not, well it's no big deal. Then we'll meet one of April's friends for breakfast --probably after dropping my car off for an oil change. I'm so glad she's home for a little bit. I miss our time together.
I wrote this somewhere else but it bears repeating here:
I’m thankful to know what abundance is and not have a lack of anything in my life including the important things like good friends, loving family, a super, loving and supportive spouse, and good health. The basic necessities of shelter, clean water and food are more than adequately covered in my life and I am very grateful because so many more people can’t say that they have even the barest minimum of their necessities.
I hope everyone reading this has a lovely Thanksgiving!
