What I've been up to.
Mar. 9th, 2011 09:59 pmYes, I haven't posted much of substance beyond Twitter updates lately. Speaking of these updates, the Parasol Protectorate is a series by Gail Carriger that I finished reading a couple of weeks ago (up to the last book which is the third one). I enjoyed them. The main character is a strong, intelligent, educated woman who is a little fuller figured (despite the cover pictures). The books are set in an alternate Steampunk England (1820's, I believe) where werewolves and vampires live openly in with the humans. It's full of humor and adventure and good fashion commentary. It may be a light read to some, but it's my kind of "light" reading!
In addition, I'm knitting (yes, not crocheting, knitting) three different projects. One for me, one for a friend and one for a swap on Ravelry.
We have at least one must get done house project (the sewer pipe replacement) that I have to start getting estimates for. I'd like to finish off the diningroom and start working on the kitchen but I'm not sure the kitchen is going to happen this year.
And I've got a number of things surrounding Confluence to help out with including getting the musical production underway.
Things might get a little quiet around here for the next few months but I'll still be trying to read everyone's journal.
