Global Warming?
Feb. 14th, 2007 08:10 amWell, we had about 4 inches of snow during the course of yesterday and then sometime yesterday afternoon it changed to freezing rain and continued to rain in to the night. Sometime early this morning it turned back into snow. All the other universities in the city have closed (at least until noon) except for mine. The large lilac bush in the back is very heavy with ice and the branches have come down low to the ground to obstruct my normally clear view of the bird feeders. Many of my co-workers are taking PTO today and I'm working from home this morning. Fortunately, I have electrical power. Many people don't. The T (our light rail transit system) is down due to the ice. I've got the news on the tv and even the malls aren't opening until noon! Anyway, the Klingon left early this morning for work (he made it in) and I had already planned on working from home this morning. We shoveled the driveway last night so I'll be able to get out and we need some salt (I imagine we're not alone) because I used the last of it on the steps and front walk last night. My back is a little sore this morning (the snow and freezing rain was heavy!) from shoveling yesterday. I took a break in between shoveling sessions so I tried to be healthy about it.
