Stardust: DeNiro is Brilliant!

I think the man steals the show. It was a nice story but not quite Neil Gaiman's original story. I understand why Neil's version couldn't be made into a movie. I think they preserved some elements well --especially the central story.

Go see it, this weekend if you can!

I haven't seen Claire Danes since Romeo and Juliette, and she's grown up! Wow.

The harry potter movies have given me a new appreciation for adapting books to screen and how truly tricky that is.

I do wish they had pushed to Otherness of the world on the other side. They went for a subtle approach to magic-always a good choice, but I thought they could have made it look a little more different.

Well, I think that they tried with the stars talking to Tristan, etc. I think I recall that Neil said in his journal that there were fewer special effects than there could have been because of the cost. It is a tricky business.

I saw a review that called Charlie Cox and Claire Danes performances wooden. I didn't think they were wooden at all! It was a treat to see Rupert Everett, too! What a great cast!
Did you see the trailer for Spiderwick? It looks very interesting.

Yes! Who are they comparing to? Because they were extremely lively in the version I saw! ;)

I love all the fantasy movies that are coming out! And with my eldest at 7, I hope that in the next year or so I will have company for even the movies my furry man doesn't want to go to.
